Hanging Out With The Leader

Cherrystar sat down in camp clearing, kneading the ground slightly, her ears prickled forward as she purred quietly. The tortoiseshell and white molly's eyes are half-closed as she watched over the camp.

Cherrystar felt so relaxed and today was such a lovely day.

Poppycloud blearly opened her eyes, blinking the sleep away. She yawned and stretched as she rose from her position on her favorite rock. The molly took her time stretching each limb individually before jumping to the ground with a soft "thud". Her feet sunk slightly into the sand as she moved aimlessly across camp. Some times, like now, Poppycloud just plain forgot what she was doing.

She caught sight of Cherrystar and altered her path. "Good afternoon, Cherrystar," she mewed, sitting a few feet away from the other molly.

"Ah, hello Poppycloud," Cherrystar purred, "Yes, it's a rather lovely afternoon. I just more like it" briefly closing her eyes as she took in sunshine. It was great to have sunny days, that means more prey out and with more prey means a full clan. She was just glad that it wasn't unbearably hot, that would mean less prey.

Cherrystar was feeling grateful about the days going into her leadership. To her it felt like StarClan had blessed her clan, she was sure that her clan suffered the most during that dreaded Leaf-Bare. Losing not only their leader, but their deputy, and then cat chosen by the clan to be leader.

Poppycloud closed her eyes and lifted her face into the breeze. Might as well enjoy it while she could, while the dust wasn't swirling around. Poppycloud disliked the dust clouds which so frequently blew through camp; the added sand in her fur completely threw off her grooming routine.

"How is apprentice training going?" she asked. "It is such a shame that we had so few kits survive leaf-bare."
