Appearance: Leechnose is a muscular molly with an oddly long tail and a wiry, athletic build beneath her dappled pelt. Her fur is a messy mixture of dull ginger and black, making it easy for the tortoiseshell warrior to blend in to her surroundings. The majority of her body is mottled ginger, while her face, legs, and tail are significantly darker. Her round, pale yellow-green eyes stand out against the mostly black fur on her face and muzzle.
Personality: Leechnose has always been a tenacious feline, setting high standards for herself and always striving to reach those goals. With her keen senses and energetic nature, she almost always prefers to be doing something active outside the camp. Waiting is not her strong suit, and she has little patience in general; she is better at simply doing. If left to her own devices, she has a tendency to charge headlong into situations without thinking them through. “Think before speaking” is another subtlety she has yet to fully grasp, though she has gained more of a filter than she had as a kit and apprentice. Despite her impulsiveness, Leechnose does have a soft spot for elders and, despite her age, still enjoys their stories.
History:
› Dappletail was already a very senior warrior when she gave birth to her one and only litter: a pair of tortoiseshell mollies she named Leechkit and Sorrelkit. Her daughters were the graying queen’s pride and joy from the moment she first laid eyes on them. They had a very normal upbringing under their mother’s watchful, caring eyes; they frolicked around the camp, play-fighting and romping between listening to elders’ tales. At times, Dappletail struggled to keep up with their youthful energy, particularly as they neared their apprenticeship.
› Mild-mannered Sorrelpaw was apprenticed to Gullheart, becoming the young warrior’s first apprentice, while the leader sensibly placed Leechpaw under the more experienced Shadefang’s mentoring. Shadefang, a battle-scarred molly with tattered ears, noticed Leechpaw’s sharp senses early on, and based many of their lessons around honing her apprentice’s natural ability. While Leechpaw blossomed under her mentor’s expert tutelage, she also managed to find all sorts of trouble outside of her lessons – from sneaking out after dark to playfully pranking her clan-mates – and spent many hours cleaning dens and making nests as a result. Near the end of Leechpaw’s apprenticeship, Dappletail passed away after a seemingly mild flu shifted to pneumonia, quickly ending the elderly molly’s life.
› Leechnose and Sorrelfoot received their warrior names on a chilly leaf-bare day, almost exactly a moon after their mother’s passing. Leechnose assumed her new duties as a warrior of MarshClan and the days became weeks, and weeks became moons. Two moons after her warrior ceremony, her old mentor was killed in a border scuffle with a trespassing rogue; she died as she lived, fighting for her clan, and Leechnose is sure that Shadefang has a place of honor in StarClan. Among other valuable lessons, Shadefang left Leechnose with a strong faith in their warrior ancestors.

Her paws crunched lightly over the blanket of dead leaves and reeds as Leechnose approached the stream. The biting leaf-bare weather had mellowed slightly; there was still a chill in the air most of the time, but she could feel new-leaf coming at times like this, near sun-high. She lowered her head to lap at the cold water, allowing her thoughts to drift. She could hear a couple of her clan-mates chattering not far upstream, and a bird was calling loudly from somewhere behind her. It would be nice when prey was more plentiful and she could take a second mouse without feeling like she was stealing from her clan.
The young warrior was startled from her contemplation by the sound of paw-steps behind her. Leechnose turned her head and nodded at the approaching warrior; feeling sociable, she meowed, “Hey! How are you doing?”
