What are Prey Points?
Prey Points (abbreviated as PP) are Trying Times' monetary system, of sorts. PP is obtained by posting in-character, completing threads, and from staff-run contests. Members may also charge PP in the Member Shops board, with permission of staff. They may be used to purchase locked characters and some other things on the forum.
Why locked characters?
Many of the items listed are extremely genetically rare in cats, and are locked to ensure the population of Trying Times reflects this. The other items on the list - disabilities, gender identities, and triggering backstories - are very often written in a poor and offensive way. Earning PP proves to us that you are capable of writing them well.
How much do I get per post?
5 prey points for an IC post.
15 prey points for a completed rp thread. Tag staff (place @ before their usernames) in the final post.
How do I make purchases?
Simply post in this thread and a staff member will take care of it and reply with a confirmation.

Locked Characters
Default: Ordinary pelts and little-no deformities/major injuries.
40 PP: Tailless cats, cats with heterochromia, cats with major injuries.
50 PP: Three-legged cats, black smoke tabbies.
70 PP: Cats with depression or anxiety.
80 PP: Tortie/calico toms.
90 PP: Transgender cats, Agender cats, cats with violet eyes.
100 PP: Genderqueer cats, Blind cats*, Deaf cats*.
110 PP: Mute cats.
150 PP: Cats with albinism.
175 PP: ‘Villain' cats**, triggering backstory***
*Cats with extremely poor hearing or eyesight due to old age do not require purchase.
**Defined as cats who purposefully harm the Clans. Not sure if your character is a villain? Pm staff.
***Anything involving rape, suicide, mass murder, or other events that may trigger players. Please place a warning on the bio.
