Character information
Name:Kestrelfoot
Age (in moons): 30 moons
Gender:She-cat
Allegiance:GrassClan
Appearance: Kestrelfoot is a predominantly light brown/black tortoiseshell she-cat with eyes of a green hue. Her build is rather small - she has stubby forepaws, small ears, a long tail, almond-shaped eyes, and short, thin, sleek fur. Her tortoiseshell patches are scattered around her pelt, her legs are long and slender, and she has a white muzzle that reaches barely below her eyes.
Personality: :Kestrelfoot is quite pompous, always showing off her achievements in front of others, usually those who she thinks are inferior to her. Her pride is usually the cause of her downfall; she usually boasts about her accomplishments, someone calls out one of her mistakes, and she then rants to his accuser. She is good at chasing intruders from GrassClan, often kicking at them with her hind legs, and then pushing them out. During her spare time, she likes to chase butterflies on the open field, running after them. Her notable running skill was what earned her suffix, being perhaps one of the fastest in the clan. She is protective of her kits and mate - she prefers for them to be safe, and would rather risk her life protecting them.
History: She had a relatively simple life as a clan cat. She was born to a couple, Lichenflower, a tortoiseshell she-cat, and Barleyfang, a light golden brown tom. Her siblings were Rookkit; a tom with soot-black fur, Newtkit; a she-kit with a long tortoiseshell pelt, Falconkit;a she-kit with blue-gray fur, and Lionkit; a she-kit with a golden tabby pelt. Her childhood wasn't that much different than your average warrior: She was exploring quite a bit, peeking into the dens, and often getting chased out with her siblings. She would take advice from her parents, to keep for future use. What she had not learned during this time was that Rookkit died early in infancy, because of a heart defect, before she could hear, and to this day does not know what happened to him;she believes he ran away to become a kittypet.
When she became an apprentice, she was apprenticed to a tom, one who had been calm and patient. He allowed young Kestrelpaw to show him what she had learned, and he would then point out how to improved what she had performed. As a result, she became a skilled apprentice, but she favored running after butterflies and kicking out trespassers sometimes over training. Eventually, when he felt she was ready, the tom asked the leader to grant her the warrior name she earned, and he did; she became Kestrelfoot, her surviving siblings Newtflower and Lionclaw; Falconpaw had died of an infected wound she had received while fighting some PineClan cats. As a result, Kestrelfoot distanced herself from her siblings, unable to share her feelings.
However, one day, the apprentice Snakepaw had his ceremony, and became Snakeheart. The young Kestrelfoot was attracted to the tom cat: his dark-hued stripes, the black tufts of fur that were on his ears, and his sleek black whiskers made him pop out compared to the rest of his clanmates, to her. Soon, Kestrelfoot attempted to ask him something, but because flustered, and padded away. Unable to take in the embarrassment, she spoke to him afterwards about what she had done, and he understood. The she-cat then realized she had found comfort in the tom, and began to spend more time with him. Eventually, they became mates, and soon, Kestrelfoot was pregnant.
While she spent time in the nursery, other queens comforted her and offered her advice for dealing with her kitting. The tortoiseshell heeded their words; the kits would come someday. She often told of her accomplishments, boasting them in any way she could - this annoyed some of the queens, perhaps even to their wits' end! When her water broke, she had a clean, easy, quick kitting; the medicine cat had helped her, as she spent most of it walking about, until she delivered her kits; Fallowkit, a light brown she-kit, and Jaykit, a gray-brown tom.
While the kits spend their time in the nursery, she is very protective over her mate and kits, as she does not want for them to end up like her late sister Falconpaw. Eventually, Fallowkit manages to convince her that she would be better off on her own, but she still keeps an eye on her. She often offered advice to her kits and mate - what her now-deceased parents had told her, was now passed on to another generation. She often boasted of her accomplishments - usually putting hyperbole to make the story more entertaining for her kits. The moment her kits became apprentices, she congratulated them, wishing them luck in their apprenticeship.
When the cold season had came, the pompous she-cat was now not just protective of her kin;she was protective of her whole clan. Herbs had been hard to find, and she desperately tried to locate some along with prey. Alas, she had occasionally found the mouse or the catmint stalk, but nothing else. Some of her clanmates had died during this season, and Kestrelfoot vows in the warm season to relish it as much as she can, as she knows that the cold will come again.
