Name: Jaystep
Age:18 moons
Gender: Tom
Allegiance: PineClan
Appearance:
Jaystep is a lithe, gray-brown lynx point tabby tom with blue eyes. He is mostly silvery-white in coloration, except at his extremities; defining tabby stripes mark his face, tail, and legs. His paws and tail tip are a darker gray. Very vague tabby markings line his back and shoulders, overlaying a soft coloration of brown. A similar shade of brown streaks the upper side of his muzzle. As with nearly all point tabbies, his eyes are a bright blue.
Jaystep’s face is ovular, and he has long, pointed ears. His eyes are round. He has a nimble and skinny body type, accentuated by long legs and an equally long tail.
With the current lack of prey this leaf-bare, Jaystep's pelt has become a little ragged, and his ribs show clearly through his fur.

Personality:
As his name suggests, Jaystep is light-footed and quick. He is similarly quick-witted, and prone to brief chattiness. He is not particularly social, though, and prefers to be by himself. Jaystep is very intelligent for what he lacks in brute strength.
His speed and grace is tempered poorly by his arrogance. He doesn’t like to be bested and has gone to extreme lengths to prove himself. Though he respects authority as necessary, he is known to be a little defiant. Jaystep is inwardly protective of his only remaining sibling, Thistleheart, and is easily embarrassed when his defensiveness does show, as he doesn’t like to express preference for any cat.
History:
Jaystep was one of four kits born to PineClan queen, Pikestream. Pikestream decided against revealing the father of her kits, yet the unique pelts of her litters suggested someone with possible kittypet ancestry. The other clan members were always suspicious, but Pikestream was known for being a little promiscuous and was adamant about keeping the sire a secret. The youngest and smallest of the kittens, Pebblekit, died before she was old enough to open her eyes. Jaykit, Stormkit, and Thistlekit survived.
Even from a few moons old, Jaykit was known for being rowdy. He was quick on his feet, eager to learn but never to listen, and always trying to prove his skills. As an apprentice, this didn’t change. Jaypaw showed considerable skill in climbing, even amongst the tree-loving members of PineClan. He was light and graceful as a bird in the trees, flitting from branch to branch in silent pursuit of prey. His quickness and stealth made him a solid hunter in the trees… where his impatience and arrogance hurt his ability as a hunter on the ground. His fighting skills were average—Jaypaw/step, while an intelligent and incredibly quick fighter, lacked any real aggression or fighting drive to be considered a –claw or –fang.
Thus, on the moonhigh of his Warrior ceremony, he was named Jaystep, and sat vigil with his brother, Stormtail, and his sister, Thistleheart. The morning after their vigil, Jaystep and Stormtail were sent on a border patrol. Stormtail challenged Jaystep to a race through the trees, as they had a long-standing rivalry as to who was the quickest of foot. Jaystep, despite feeling their naming ceremony had settled this argument once and for all, agreed. Going faster than he ever had before, Jaystep lost Stormtail in the foliage. When he came to the edge of their territory, breathless and elated, with no Stormtail in sight, Jaystep waited a long while before cautiously backtracking. The fresh stench of blood filled his nose and jaw, leading him to Stormtail’s body. His brother had fallen, and landed in the path of a mothering badger and its children. Though the badgers were long gone, Jaystep could still smell their traces.
Jaystep still carries the guilt of his brother’s death with him, dulling his old spiritedness.
