Hi, I'm Brady. There's not much to me that's relevant for RP spaces. I tend to take a while to get settled in to any space properly, but once I'm confident I can be pretty prolific.

Anyway, I really don't like the Warrior Cats canon, but I love the ideas Ailuronymy's put forward. I've been debating joining for a while, and I think I may. Traditional naming is very important to me in roleplaying settings.

My one problem is: I have a HUGE concern! I'd really like if there could be a conversation about it.

I'm transgender. The details aren't necessary (I'm not a boy/girl fyi don't ask) but the fact remains. I'd like they pronouns.

The fact that I have to pay for transgender characters is, frankly, hurtful and alienating. 

This fact is acceptable to me because I'v read that it's aimed at cutting down on people who are lazy and make assumptions about transgender people... but I really don't want to have to jump through hoops to play characters like me, just because OTHER people might be nasty about it. In addition, it makes me feel like my identity is some sort of optional quirk, when in reality it colors my experiences in every department. Also, have exactly one cisgender warrior cats OC.

I understand & respect that rules are in place for reasons, but I'd like to be able to work out some kind of compromise. It doesn't mean that they need to be free for me because I asked nicely, but a compromise would help me feel much more comfortable.

I was not the one who put the rules in place and I've suggested the payment for Trans characters be removed completely. I understand that transgender people will want to play characters like them and having a payment in place to "prevent offensive writing" is to me unnecessary. If anyone truly plays any character in an offensive matter, it is against site rules anyway and as such if a transgender member feels discomfort with the way a transgender character is presented by someone else, they can express that concern.

We've taken off the payment for non-straight characters for similar reasons, if someone plays a queer character that is clearly stereotypical and offensive then they will receive either a warning or a ban. So far, in the almost two years this site has been up, nobody has played any character in an offensive manner.

I've brought up this concern before, when I was looking through all our pages and threads to help new members and saw it. I'm hoping the price can be lifted entirely, so Transgender members can feel comfortable and welcome, and can play characters they identify with.

Haha it was lucky that I responded so quickly, I was at my one Wednesday Class and then the bus to home so. :x

I've created a new thread on the Staff board (invisible to non-Staff members obviously) about lifting the payment completely. I basically paraphrased what I just wrote out in reply to you.
